Header & navigation

Everything here lives in Blast Studio → Header & menu.

Header layouts

Six header designs ship with Blast. Pick one with Header layout; each is a complete design rather than a skin — dropdown behaviour, spacing and mobile behaviour are tuned per layout.

DesignCharacter
ClassicBrand left, links centre-left, actions right. Solid and timeless — always a safe default
CenteredLinks perfectly centred between brand and actions. Balanced and editorial
Floating glassA glass bar floating above the page with a soft blur. Modern and airy
Island pillThe whole navigation sits in a rounded floating pill. Distinctive and product-like
Morphing capsuleThe header morphs as you scroll — links compress into a capsule
Notch mega menuA notch-style header with a wide mega-menu. Built for stores with many categories

Header background: where the layout supports it, choose transparent until scroll — the header sits on the hero, then gains a solid surface as you scroll — or always solid.

Scroll progress bar: available on the Morphing capsule layout.

The screenshots use the Notch layout

In Blast's screenshots the header capsule is charcoal in both modes. That is deliberate for the Notch variant — a dark island with light text inside it. If you prefer a header that follows the page, choose Classic, Floating glass, Island pill or Morphing capsule.

Choose how menu dropdowns look: Simple list, Icon grid or Cards. The icon grid and card styles are what make a store full of categories feel organised — each item gets an icon and a short description.

Menu items decides what the main navigation shows.

The visual menu builder

When you use custom groups, Menu builder opens a visual editor — no JSON, no code. For each group you can set:

  • a label, optional URL and icon
  • a heading for the dropdown panel
  • any number of links, each with label, URL, description, icon and a badge such as New or Sale
  • an optional feature card at the side of the dropdown: title, text, image and button

Groups appear in the order you arrange them.

Header buttons

Header button labelAn optional highlighted button in the header, for example "Get started". Leave empty to hide
Header button URLWhere that button points

Top bar

A slim utility bar above the header, off by default.

  • Top bar text — a short message.
  • Top bar links — one per line as Label | URL | icon. Up to six.
  • Top bar social icons — reuses the social links from your footer.

Announcement bar

A dismissible announcement strip. Options: text, badge, link label and URL, one of four styles (Blue light, Charcoal, Gradient glow, Outline) and whether visitors can dismiss it. Dismissals are remembered per visitor.

One message at a time

The announcement bar is for a single clear message. If you need more than one, keep the most important one here and use homepage sections for the rest.

Language, theme toggle and account

Mobile behaviour

On phones the header collapses to a logo, the account avatar and a menu button. The menu opens as a full sheet with grouped links and the header button. Signed-in customers get their account menu from the avatar exactly as on desktop; guests get Login and Register inside the menu.

All six layouts share the same mobile behaviour, so switching desktop layout never surprises your phone visitors.

The homepage on a phone

In the Footer panel:

  • Footer layout — Brand + columns, Newsletter + wordmark, Minimal or Centered.
  • Footer columns — automatic (products, support, legal), custom, or both. Custom pages set to appear in the footer get their own column; rename it with Pages column title (default Explore).
  • Footer fine print — optional small text under the bottom bar for company registration, VAT number or price notes.
  • Newsletter — point the form at your own mailing-list provider. Blast never stores e-mail addresses. Leave the form URL empty to hide the block.
  • Status link — an optional footer link with a coloured dot for your status page, in green, amber or red.
  • About and social — description line, social profiles, legal links and copyright.
  • Oversized wordmark — an optional large decorative footer wordmark.
  • "Powered by Paymenter" — can be shown or hidden.
