Quick Look
Press Space on any file to preview it without opening the editor or downloading it. Use the arrow keys to move between files and Space or Esc to close.
What you can preview
| File type | What you get |
|---|---|
| Images | Zoom and pan; small textures shown sharp rather than blurred |
| Text and code | Syntax highlighting |
| JSON | A collapsible tree |
| Markdown | Formatted, with safe links (raw HTML is not rendered) |
| Logs | The last part of the file, with level filters and search |
.properties | A readable table of keys and values |
| Zip and tar | The list of contents, without extracting |
| Audio | A full player with queue and lyrics |
| Video | Playback with native controls |
| SQLite databases | A read-only table browser |
Files that are too large for the configured limits are not previewed; you can still download them.
The media player
Audio previews are a real player, not a bare <audio> tag:
- Cover art from the folder, if there is a
cover.jpg,folder.pngor similar - Seek bar with the buffered range shown
- Play, pause, previous, next, shuffle and repeat one or all
- Volume, remembered between visits
- Playback speed from 0.5× to 2×
- A queue of every other playable file in the same folder
- Synced lyrics from an
.lrcfile beside the song, with the current line highlighted
Supported audio formats are MP3, OGG/Opus, WAV, FLAC and M4A/AAC. Video plays MP4, MOV, WebM and OGV. A file the browser cannot decode says so, instead of showing an empty box.
Lyrics
If song.mp3 has a song.lrc beside it, the lyrics are shown in sync and scroll with the track. Click a line to seek to it. You can also write or edit the lyrics in the player: timestamps use [mm:ss.xx], an [offset:+250] tag shifts the lyrics by milliseconds, and saving writes the file back to the server (and versions it, if history is enabled).
Video keeps its native controls. The queue and lyrics buttons are available below the picture.
The database viewer
SQLite databases — the kind many plugins use for their data — open in a read-only browser:
- the list of tables with row counts
- each table's columns, with types, primary keys and nullability
- a searchable grid, a page at a time
The viewer works on a copy the panel makes, never on your live file, and it refuses to write to it. Binary values are shown as hex. Very large databases, or ones above the configured size limit, can be downloaded instead.
WARNING
A table that is actually a view cannot be opened. Open the tables underneath it instead.
Tips
- Arrow keys move to the previous or next file in the folder while Quick Look is open.
- Space opens and closes the preview; Esc closes it.
- Quick Look never modifies a file, with one exception: saving lyrics in the player, which is an explicit action.
- Thumbnail and preview caches are cleaned up automatically by the panel's scheduled jobs.
